Rotary Club Honors Thompson, Installs New Board

ANDOVER – As one of the most recognizable figures in Andover, Mike Thompson has handed over the gavel for at least one of his many projects. The longtime community leader was honored by the Andover Rotary Club as the chapter’s outgoing president on Thursday.

“This club has really seen a resurgence under Mike’s leadership.” current Club President Troy Nordman told the audience. “We are very grateful for the things he did during his term.”
An Oklahoma native, Thompson has been a longtime engineering executive with Poe and Associates of Wichita. He serves in many different activities within the Andover community, most notably his Rotary activities. Earlier this year, he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Andover Chamber of Commerce, another organization which he has held a longtime membership in.

The current Rotary Club Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 term includes:

President – Troy Nordman, Butler Community College

Vice President/Program Chair – Shane Loy, Andover YMCA

Secretary – Tom Taylor, Andover Public Library

Treasurer – Alison Couey, Intrust Bank

Membership Chair – Mark Owens, Executive Benefits Group

Public Relations Chair – Grant Merrill, AndoverLeader.Com/Leader News Group
